Morocco has probably the most vibrant and rich culture in the whole of the African continent. Being the third largest city of the country, Marrakech has its own airport which is well connected with the other airports of the region but if you are traveling from abroad then you will have to take a cheap flight to Marrakech and then either you can get a connecting flight to Marrakech or you can make the journey by train. Paying a visit to the Souks or markets of the old section of the town can be an interesting activity. These markets sell everything ranging from Jallebas to Cell Phones and you will surely enjoy your shopping experience here but like anywhere else on the planet the shop keepers will surely try to rip a tourist off so always insist on bargaining. The market is located close to the famous Djemaa El-Fna, the place where the elders and youngsters alike gather at the night for a different kind of nightlife experience. The place is always full of story tellers, folk dancers and musicians and the environment here is electrifying because of the beat of the drums and the excited shouts. This will surely be a unique cultural experience for you making your vacation in Marrakech that much more special. There are always quite a few food stalls in Djemaa El-Fna and you will surely enjoy eating out in this great environment.
El Bahia Palace is the biggest historical attraction of the city and is a beautiful example of the Moorish architecture. The palace was built in the 19th century for a Moroccan nobleman and shows just how wealthy were the noblemen of that era. If you are interested in knowing the history of the city then head to the Dar es Said museum which will provide you with ample information about the city and has quite a few arte-facts from the different eras of the Marrakech history.
