Malawi is a country located in the Central or Southern Africa and the fresh-water Lake Malawi covers about a third of the land-locked country. The northern shore of Lake Malawi is less developed and is also less populated. The shore is also chillier (June to August) during the dry season but it’s ideal during the hot season. Apart from the southern and the northern shore you may also like to visit the Likoma Island which is actually in Mozambique but is a Malawian claimed territory and home to a large cathedral which was built in the early nineteenth century. The island is also home to some lovely beaches and two of the eco-friendly resorts and the option of budget accommodations are also available there. With very few cars on the island it’s a very peaceful place to stay and you can have a nice walk inland anytime or kayak around-the-island.
