The Doctor’s Cave Bathing Club which is also commonly called as the Doctor’s Cave Beach Club is one of the most famous beaches and best-loved tourist Jamaica that catches the eye of all those people who take tickets to Montego Bay. Highly famous for its near-white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters, it has always grabbed the attention of plenty of locals as well as the foreigners. Even the most diffident swimmers just love to come here because this destination also offers calm waters in a sheltered location. It is amazingly settled between the Hip Strip and the Marine Park and is known worldwide for its mineral content and the ultimate charm and magic of the beachside.

The history is quite interesting and unique- a sanatorium was founded by Dr Alexander James McCatty in 1880 in this beautiful city. He invited his close friends and many other doctors here allowed them to swim the crystal clear waters of this beautiful beach. The property was then donated to the community in 1906 and after that, a private members club was formed here. Sir Herbert Barker who was an English osteopath came here in 1920 and was highly inspired by the curative powers, the water of this serene beach contains.
After the publication of his article that described the qualities and the positive aspects of the beach, it earned fame in the whole world and the tourists started to come here in large numbers. Gradually many resorts and hotels were built here so now it has become one of the most charming and fascinating spots of the country. Here you will also find a 15-foot-tall bronze statue that was built by Basil Watson and is popular with the name of Balance (a man is balancing a woman above him and they both are completely stretching their arms).
It is actually a broad swath of very tidy sand that covers the land area of more than 200 meters and facilitates beloved travellers with a large variety of amazing activities and other pastimes. It is an integral part of the protected Montego Bay Marine Park and you can use local boats to visit the various stunning sites of this park which is rich with a variety of coral reefs.
