Yosemite is “The National Park” of USA, no one else comes even close to its beauty, grandeur and majesty. That’s the reason it gets visited by more than four million tourists each year, perhaps this high traffic is the only downside of this marvellous park. The view of the place is stunning, with looming snow-capped peaks of El Captain and Half Dome, mist-covered Yosemite waterfall and the gorgeous lakes of its wilderness. It is the United State’s third oldest national park and is currently the most visited of them all.
Located in east-central California, the Yosemite is easily accessible through the bus services from the most major cities of the region. If you are travelling from outside of the USA or the state of California, then you have to take cheap flights to Los Angeles and then make the rest of the journey either through the bus service or hire a car from the city.
There are a lot of sights to see in the park, you can start your tour by visiting Half Dome, considered as the steepest of the cliffs in North America. If you are a good climber you can grapple your way up to the summit but if not then a 17 miles hike around the cliff can take you to its top. The view of the park from the top of the Half Dome is magnificent and it’s worth spending a day or two there either by camping if the weather permits or staying at one of the many hotels in the area.
The Yosemite Waterfall is the tallest of all the waterfalls in North America with its height of 740 meters; if you arrive at the park in the middle of spring then you can witness the true power of the fall with thousands of gallons of water rushing down from it. In summer it shrinks to a trickle but is still worth visiting because of its gorgeous surroundings. If you are looking for solitude in the middle of the thousands of visitors in the park then take the hike of 5.5 km that will take you to the top of the waterfall with a stunning view and tranquillity to relax.
There are a number of resorts and hotels in the park that cater to visitors with different tastes and budgets. To do justice with this most beautiful part of the United States plan a visit of at least 4 to 5 days and have the most wonderful time of your life.
