Langkawi’s main vein Pantai Cenang is not as rowdy as the happening strip of Las Vegas but being the most developed west-coast beach of Malaysia, it attracts all those people who take cheap flights to Langkawi. The shores are the gorgeous blend of verdant palms, crystalline turquoise-blue waters and white sand that leaves its beloved visitors in awe. The place is situated some 25 kilometres away in the western part of Kuah and is crammed with maid range to mostly budget hotels. The tourists flock here in large groups due to a number of high-end resorts.
As soon as it gets dark, plenty of families, Asian tourists, expats and a peculiar jumble of backpackers throng the main road to window shop, drink and eat. The whole complex is separated by 3 different zones, Sub-Antarctic, Temperate and Tropical Rainforest. You can spot a number of black-footed and cute little rock hopper penguins in the ‘penguin-arium’ that amuses a number of children. You can also see a three-dimensional (3D) theatre, a cafeteria and an Educational Resource Centre inside this area.
Laman Padi is another worth-visiting and stunning spot of this region that is located at the northern end of Pantai Cenang and you can easily spot buffaloes grazing in the paddy fields. You will surly love this ‘ecotourism’ complex that also houses a Heritage Gallery, the Nawa Sari Spa, a cafe and the Padi Cuisine. Don’t miss the chance to hit the magnificent and picturesque site of Rice Garden Museum that is dedicated for rice cultivation and grabs the attention of plenty of people. The breath taking and jaw dropping vistas of the multi-tiered rooftop rice garden will definitely cast a spell on your nerves.
The area also offers you an enthralling opportunity of trying out your hand at rice farming so you must head towards the Garden of Variety and Herb Garden for this purpose.
