Accra is the capital of Ghana located at southern-coast and a pleasant city home to about 1.2 million people. The graves of Ghana’s first President Kwame Nkrumah and American born civil-rights leader W.E.B Du Bois who spent the last of his years in Accra can also be visited if you got some extra time.
That’s not the end of what Accra offers as the city is home to some beautiful beaches with some of them acquiring more tourist attention than the others. You may be asked for a little entrance fee for Labadi and Kokrobite excluding Saturday and Sunday when it gets crowdy there. If you prefer to be at a quiet and peaceful beach, you can head straight towards the CoCo beach in Teshie. Although it’s quite rocky there and is also not very good for swimming still you can relax there and have a peaceful time. Another of the peaceful beaches is the Ada Beach which is situated at Volta River’s mouth and you can find some water sporting there. Although to reach there it may take a little longer but its worth it when you are there as if you are really looking for some cool beaches you got to travel outside Accra.
The area which gets a lot of tourist attention in Accra, the most indeed, is Osu which is located near the Liberation Square and the Art Centre. You can find many good restaurants and hotels on the main street and in the neighbouring areas. You can also find a bowling-alley in Teshie if you are with children and want to have a good time them.
