Koh Samui also was known as just Samui, Thailand’s third largest island. With palm fringed white sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters with the breathtaking surrounding of lush green mountains with brown roads; it is fast becoming the most attractive travel destination in Asia. So if you are planning a vacation in the region, Koh Samui surely is a destination worth considering.
How to get to Samui? Ko Samui has its own international airport but only a few airlines operate here; you can choose to take a direct flight to Koh Samui with Eva Air, Thai Air and Etihad Airline. There are also daily domestic flights between Samui and Phuket, Bangkok and Krabi if you decide to visit those places first.
Because of the recent boom in the tourist traffic to Samui, the prices of lodging here have increased a little. It may be a little difficult for you to find low price accommodation here, but there are a lot of mid-range and luxury hotels all across Samui.
Now what to see in Samui, you can choose to visit any of the famous beaches of the island. Chaweng is the busiest of all the beaches with most of the tourists to the island spending most of their time there. If you are fond of an exciting nightlife then you will surely enjoy your time on Chewang beach. If you find Chewing a little too busy for your liking then visit Lamai, an alternative of Chewang with a great beach, restaurants, some nice bars and again a rich nightlife. It has everything Chewang has but a little less busy than it.
If nightlife is not your primary concern then you can decide to go to Cheong Mon, another famous beach with ice shallow green water and a nice beach in a picture perfect background of the lush rainforest. You will find quite a few restaurants there where you can enjoy the Thai and International cuisine. Another great beach is Maenem, with an overlooking ancient Big Buddha temple a landmark of Koh Samui.
Koh Samui is a great place to spend your holidays and its rapidly increasing growth as a favourite travel destination around the world is proof of it. So book yourself a nice cheap flight to Koh Samui and enjoy a great time there.
