Typhoon Kalmaegi makes its headwinds towards Southern China after tearing through the Philippines and Northern Vietnam. The typhoon has been responsible for claiming deaths of about 6 victims in Philippine waters, capsizing boats and coastal villages in the country. It progressed nearby northern Vietnam, heading towards southern Chinese province of Hainan as well as Hong Kong.
Vietnam Airlines has cancelled 6 flights from its domestic flight network, along with numerous other schedules disrupted to earlier takeoffs or departure delays. Chinese air operators including China Southern Airlines have had their flights disrupted, with a tally totalling to a number of 500 focused upon Hong Kong in particular.
